i-Land is the first piece of a series which began as a way to study the Diorama Map series from a new point of view. Not choosing a specific city as a motif, I created a collage of an imaginary world using the photographs which were shot in various place in Japan.The Diorama Map series follows a step of recreation of a certain city from my own memory, yet for i-Land, by shifting a real world into my imaginary world, these two world which seemingly look opposite are in fact, are interacting each other with a definite balance and that always brings a certain relationship like a mirror for my own creative process.

「i-Land」という作品は、Diorama Mapシリーズを新たな視点から考察するために始められた空想シリーズ、第一作目の作品です。ある特定の都市をモチーフにするのではなく、日本全国の様々な場所で撮影したものを、自身の空想をもとにコラージュすることによって、架空の世界を作り上げた作品です。Diorama Mapシリーズは、実在する都市を自らの記憶をもとに再構築する試みによって制作されていますが、「i-Land」では、現実から空想の世界へと変換する ことで、一見相反する二つの世界がある一定のバランスを持って相互に作用しており、そのことは自身の制作行為においても常に対峙し合う関係をもたらしています。
