Night is the second piece in a series that began as a way to study the Diorama Maps from a new point of view, the first being i-Land. Not choosing a specific city as a motif, I created a collage of an imaginary world using photographs shot in multiple cities.For Night I spent about a year shooting to create a world of night time views which look like something we have all seen somewhere before. In this piece of work, I emphasize the difference in our perception when we look at something from a distance and from close up.

「Night」という作品は、「i-Land」と同様にDiorama Mapシリーズを新たな視点から考察するために始められた空想シリーズ、第二作目の作品です。ある特定の都市をモチーフにするのではなく、日本全国の様々な場所で撮影したものを、自身の空想をもとにコラージュすることによって、架空の世界を作り上げた作品です。「Night」では撮影に約一年間かけて撮りためた夜景の断片を、一見、どこかで見たことのある風景のような世界を作り上げています。離れて見る時と近くで見る時の認識の差異を強調した作品です。
